Designer Profile
Antee Gurung is a fashion designer and is based in Kathmandu Nepal. She runs a fashion label called Inspire, which she has been running successfully since 2014. Inspire is well known for feminine designs with a play on color and texture. She draws her inspiration from nature and many of her designs are reflections of the seasonal patterns. She started out as a young designer and her designs are known to be fluid, fresh and evolving. Inspire has come a long way in garnering the love and trust from her clients and supporters. Inspire’s core essence is focused mainly on designs, which are distinctly feminine and elegant.
In 2012, she showcased her debut collection, which quickly caught the attention amongst the youths. Since then, she has covered fashion articles for numerous magazines and showcased her collections at thirteen different fashion shows in Nepal and overseas so far.
In 2014, she was the official designer for Miss Nepal, where she designed the evening gowns for the three winners attending the international pageants such as Miss World, Miss Earth and Miss International. In 2016, one of her designs worn by the winner of Miss Nepal Asmi Shrestha won an award for ‘Best Evening Wear’. Inspire also did an exclusive pop up sale in London in 2018. Inspire was also part of the “Khadi- the future fabric international show” by fashion council of Bangladesh in Dhaka. Similarly, Inspire showcased its modern lehenga collection in Hong Kong as well.
Inspire was also the official first batch uniform designer for Himalaya Airlines which offers international flight services to many countries. Inspire has also designed a capsule collection for the first time launch of Vespa scooters in Nepal.
During the pandemic, she was also a guest lecturer at virtual live session for the IIFD students of India. Besides their in-house collections and projects, Inspire offers consultation and customisation services for women and men of all ages. Currently, along with the launch of her international e-commerce website, she is working on a pilot project on sustainable development.
